Not only was this a big house, two large barns joined, but because of the open plan design getting cables from one end to the other was always going to be a challange.
Our customer wanted a system that would allow him to have music and video in eight rooms, he also wanted to be able to select music from a source as well as playing local CDs if required. For the main lounge the brief was to install a discrete high quality big screen with cinema surround sound.
For the whole house system we used the Linn Knekt multi room system. The stylish knekt keypads allow the user to select and control all of the main equipment (which was situated in the garage services area) as well any local sources. The knekt keypad was also able to display track, artist and playlist information from the Hard Disc CD server.
The main lounge
audio visual system consisted of a 61" Plasma screen with 3 in-wall loudspeakers, and discrete rear loudspeakers the bass to fill the room was provided by an awesome 18" 3.5kw sub Bass unit. To control the cinema system a Crestron colour wireless touchpanel was programmed with easy to use controls incuding the curtains and lights.
