Control4 now available from Powerplant Home Automation

By | Control | No Comments

After 6 months of deliberation in the office, we’ve decided to jump on board with Control4.

There were a number of factors, namely support for control from Apple “i” devices, excellent built-in music streaming & browsing and the fantastic driver support from the UK based Extra Vegetables.

We are awaiting our demo equipment and are expecting to have installed very shortly. Please contact the office for a demonstration!

New from Sonos!

The guys at  Sonos have been very busy recently with some interesting new products and services.

First off is the Sonos iPad Controller app, this allows you to control your Sonos system using Apple’s fantastic touch screen tablet. It makes browsing for music from your own collection or from one of the streaming music services an easy and pleasurable experience.

It is available as a free download from the App Store.

The long awaited iPod dock for Sonos will be released at the end of the month. The £99 unit connects wirelessly to a Sonos system allowing the docked iPod or iPhone to be played around the house from any convienent location.

It’s an excellent addition to any Sonos system giving another valuable source of music!

Sonos is also now offering the Spotify music streaming service. This service is already at favourite at Powerplant  because of it’s PC software and iPhone app, the introduction on Sonos is a very welcome addition. You need the premium subscription which is £9.99 per month, this gives you higher quality audio and is advertisment free.
