5 Thoughts about the garden.

  • There are different types of external loudspeakers including:

    • Wall Mounted

    • Spike Style (Landscape) Speakers

    • Rock Style Speakers

    • 360 degree in-ground speakers .

Wall mounted and rock style speakers are good options for small area sound, like a terrace or patio.

Spike type (landscape) speakers are a great choice for discreet large area sound, especially when combined with a sub-bass unit.

360 degree speakers are a popular choice for large area background quality music.

  • A well designed outside audio speaker system can give you a large focused area of sound, and because the sound can be directed into your garden, not the neighbours, you will be able to listen to high quality sound without sharing your music choice with next door.

  • To install a television outside, the television will need to be IP ( water resistant) rated and have a screen with suitable brightness for outside use. Standard indoor televisions are not suitable for this type of application.

Projection systems can also be used outside , but these are only really suitable for evening and night time use. Projectors cannot be left outside all year round unless housed in a suitable enclosure. Projection screens should not be installed outside. A plug in portable type projector and screen is the best option for movie nights in the garden.

  • We recommend that you treat your garden and outside spaces the same as any other primary room in your house for controlled lighting.

External lighting can enhance any room with access, or a view, to an outside space.

Whether you have your outside lights programmed to come on at dusk and off at dawn, the ability to simply switch on outside lights for convenience or have the lighting connected to your home security system. Controlled lighting can be used not only as a deterrent but for your peace of mind.

  • For seamless connection to your house data network and apps, an external WiFi Access Point is an important consideration.

Whereas inside the house your WiFi signal can be restricted by the internal house construction, External WiFi access points have significantly greater range, so a single access point is normally all that is required to cover most gardens and outside spaces.

Remember your WiFi security should always be set up so only your family and people with your permission can use it.
